Arctic Sea Ice Decline Continues Between 2002-2004
Every September researchers produce a map of Arctic sea ice and compare that year's measurements to the long-term average. The ice extent was 13.4 percent less than average in September 2004, 12 percent below average in 2003, and 15 percent below average in 2002.
